Glenda Caldwell

Executive Assistant

Why do you do the work you do?
In my job as the receptionist at the Memory Care Center, I am the first face the families we serve see each day, and I do my best to lift their spirits and start their day with a smile. Knowing I make their difficult days a little better is always my goal.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy greeting caregivers when dropping off their loved ones; we laugh, engage in light conversation, and if needed emotional support.

Why is the type of work you do so important?
I feel that I enrich the lives of caregivers and their loved ones through face-to-face interactions each day as they enter our center.

What difference do you feel our service – and your work – makes for those we serve and their loved ones?
Our service allows caregivers to get a break and relax and gives their loved ones a chance to socialize and alleviate the isolation and loneliness that many experiences. I am often the person who communicates important information between program staff and the family caregivers. It is vital that they have an empathetic person who takes their concerns seriously and relays their questions and concerns to the program staff so that we can give the best care possible to our members.
